Position Overview

This is a Burlington Vermont Based position.

The Inbound Marketing Manager will own the creation and direction of all content marketing initiatives for the agency across multiple platforms and formats. The ultimate goal of these efforts is to increase website traffic and drive engagement, qualified lead generation, customer retention, and other positive client-related outcomes.

In the inbound marketing world, "published" doesn't mean "done". The ideal candidate will have a healthy obsession for content performance, reporting, and analytics.

Our Inbound Marketing Manager will lead the development of our content initiatives with a publisher/journalist mindset, to drive new business and cultivate new opportunities with our current client base through their work. 

In this role, you will:

  • Work alongside senior leadership to develop strategy and direction for the agency website, content, and blog. 
  • Plan, manage, and execute the agency editorial calendar with your written work as well as supporting freelance writer submissions.
  • Interviewing internal subject matter experts for content.
  • Weekly publication of three or more new pieces of content, be it text (blog articles), video, or audio (podcasts).
  • Create, optimize, and execute email marketing for the agency (includes newsletters, automated workflows messages, etc).
  • Optimize all content for basic search engine optimization (SEO).
  • Promote content and brand via social media as the company and a brand ambassador.
  • Create and coordinate the production of premium content including ebooks, white papers, webinars, etc.
  • Create inbound workflow assets including landing pages, calls-to-action, and new website pages.
  • Report to leadership on a monthly basis on the data-backed performance of website and content.
  • Continuously learn best practices for inbound marketing and HubSpot usage.

Required Skills

The inbound marketing manager will help define our brand story and promote what we do and how we do it through meaningful content and inbound strategies. They will also have an obsession for content performance, reporting, and analytics.

  • 2-3 years of marketing and writing experience creating and executing content marketing.
  • BA/BS degree in English, Journalism, Public Relations, Anthropology, or related communications or research writing field.
  • Clear articulation of the business goal behind the creation of a piece (or series) of content.
  • The ability to think like an educator, intuitively understanding what the audience needs to know and how they want to consume it.
  • Project management skills to manage schedules and deadlines within corporate and ongoing campaigns.
  • Needs to be continually learning the latest platforms, technology tools and marketing solutions through partnerships.
  • Impeccable writing and editorial skills, with an outstanding command of the English language.
  • An understanding of common editorial style guides, e.g. AP Style, Chicago Manual of Style, etc.
  • Inbound and HubSpot marketing certifications.
  • Incredible people skills.
