Position Overview

In this role, you are the owner of our content marketing initiatives across all digital platforms and formats.

You're responsible for editorial calendar creation, the subject matter interview process, web copywriting (including strategy and crafting messaging), and content creation for blog posts, ebooks, website pages, landing pages, emails, etc. Expect to write often and remain agile. We like curiosity. Deeper research breeds better content. You must have experience interviewing, creating story ideas, and building written content in various formats. You will help define our brand story and develop consistency for our brand's storytelling.

In this role, you will:

  • Create and manage the monthly editorial calendar for the DMG Blog.
  • Publish three or more new pieces of content (blog articles) per week.
  • Interview internal subject matter experts for content.
  • Own the agency’s email marketing efforts including newsletters, automated workflows, and more.
  • Report on analytics for all content marketing efforts.
  • Lead search engine optimization (SEO) efforts for DMG website and content.
  • Publish content on the agency’s social media channels for community engagement and long-term content promotion.
  • Create premium content including eBooks, white papers, webinars, and more.
  • Create landing pages and conversion opportunities for lead generation.
  • Perform general website updates and enhancements (e.g. new pages and calls-to-action placement).
  • Prioritize professional development and continued education in relevant areas.

Requirements:

  • BA/BS degree in English, Journalism, Public Relations, or related communications field.
  • Impeccable writing and editorial skills with an outstanding command of the English language.
  • Knowledge of SEO and content marketing principles, as well as how to craft copy and content that drives traffic and gets results.
  • The ability to conduct self-guided research into unknown topics and industries to create authoritative copy and content.
  • An experienced interviewer who knows how to extract a great story from people in a way that is efficient and enjoyable for all involved.
  • An understanding of common editorial style guides, e.g., AP Style, Chicago Manual of Style, etc.
  • Great at telling a story using words, with an understanding of how to create content that draws an audience.
  • The ability to think like an educator, intuitively understanding what the audience needs to know and how they want to consume it.
  • Clear articulation of the business goal behind the creation of a piece (or series) of content.
  • Project management skills to manage editorial schedules and deadlines within corporate and ongoing campaigns.
